PROBLEM

Adaptec Solutions manufactures and develops dozens of different automation and storage solutions, but their previous website was very limited and was not designed to support their now very large product and service offering. Their meganavigation was bloated, filled with redundances, and led to a website structure that was confusing and hard to follow. Visual accessibility was an issue that compounded the structural core problem, including hard to read color schemes and suboptimal design choices that added another layer of difficulty to engaging with the web experience.

SOLUTION

We consulted with the stakeholders of the company as well as buyers of products to re-organize Adaptec’s many offerings in a way that felt familiar to those in the industry but unique to the companies specific offerings. The look and feel of the site was overhauled, refining and expanding on their current branding to make a visual experience more accessible and refined with revised color usage and the introduction of a new gradient. Webpage layout was streamlined and optimized to meet ADA compliance and SEO standards while molding to the new information structure we made.

Improving content organization to remove redundancy and provide clearer category options

The content structure of the current website was modeled and categorized under content pillars of the Adaptec brand (Automation, Material Handling, and Lifecycle services). While having these pillars to categorize things under is helpful internally, for prospective buyers this was confusing resulting in layers and layers of pages making it very disorienting to navigate around the site. After researching competitors, speaking to buyers, and discussing with Adaptec internally how customers seek solutions we broke down content organization into a simpler, easier series of categories that feels more tailored to how buyers seek out warehouse products and automation services.
